Home Care Product Inspection

Vision inspection can be used very effectively to inspect the character’s print detection. Multiple cameras can be used for print inspection. This includes inspection of missing characters, logo missing, date mismatch, etc as it was highly essential for all the products to meet the industry specified standards. This is also to verify that the labels are positioned to correct place

Inspection Process :

  1. Spacing Phase
  2. Inspection Phase
  3. Rejection Phase

SPACING PHASE:

In the spacing phase, a spacer is present which is powered by two synchronous motors. The speed of the motor is maintained at a speed higher than the speed of the conveyor line. This ensures that there is a space between the bottles as it moves towards the inspection phase. The spacer is necessary as failing to maintain space between the bottles could hinder the inspection.

INSPECTION PHASE:

The inspection phase is equipped with 3 cameras. Two on either side and one at the top.

  1. Neck Diameter inspection:  The camera on the top inspects the bottle for the neck diameter of the bottle. This ensures that the diameter of the neck is maintained as failing to do so could not accommodate the bottle caps for sealing.  The diameter tool in the ET-Xpro is used and the limits are set in the software.
  2. Label Inspection: The camera on the front end and the rear end are employed to inspect the label that has been pasted on the bottle. The labels are be checked for position, peel of, missing label, and wrong labels. Using our pixel count tools, label inspections can be performed without being affected by surface finish, background, and color. Labels can also be checked on any orientation and identify the misalignment to perfection. The camera of the front checks for label position and logo detection while the cameras at the rear read the bar code, 2D code, and the MRP.
  3. Foreign particles: The cameras are also used to inspect for foreign particles of the bottles. This includes dark spots, color variation or any physical defects such as punctures/breakages on the bottle

REJECTION PHASE:

The rejection phase is where the defective bottles are rejected using Pneumatic Cylinder. This cylinder is controlled using a solenoid valve. The solenoid valve is controlled based on the outputs provided by the cameras. The rejects are collected in a reject bin where it can be recycled.
